Let’s support courageous health care advocates* who Sen. Cory Gardner had arrested for trespassing July 6 in his Denver office following a sit-in for health care for everyone.
State Sen, Irene Aguilar, MD, Sen. Andy Kerr, and Rep. Joseph Salazar will speak.
The activists’ pro bono attorney, Alan Kennedy-Shaffer, subpoenaed Senator Gardner to appear at Tuesday’s hearing. Gardner then asked that the charges against the activists be dropped, but Denver City Attorney Kristin Bronson’s office has not yet agreed.
Tuesday’s hearing is open to the public and the media.

*Tuesday’s hearing is for five peaceful disobedient protestors Gardner had arrested for trespassing on July 6 — a different group from the several disabled protesters with ADAPT who Gardner had arrested and jailed on June 29. Yet the event is held in solidarity for all arrested for fighting for health care for everyone.
“They are going to fight,” Kennedy-Shaffer said of his clients. Ideally, he said, their cases will be dismissed. Otherwise they’ll go all the way to trial because “Their focus is on getting out the message that everyone should have health care. That’s why they were arrested in the first place.”
The rally begins 7:30 AM on the steps of the Lindsey Flanagan Courthouse at 520 West Colfax Ave., Denver 80204. The court hearing begins at 8 a.m. Join us!

We need universal health care to make “We the People” stronger.
Thank you for standing strong for health care for everyone. Let’s get this done!
